Project Soulful helping students across Delaware, Maryland
KENT CO., De. – Students in both Maryland and Delaware will be getting a hand up this weekend thanks to a group called Project Soulful.
On Saturday, the group will be giving five students from the area school supplies as well as money to help them cover anything else they might need to succeed.
Ashonmir McElveen is a student at Delaware State University, and he’s one of those five lucky students that will be receiving help.
While he doesn’t know exactly what he’ll be getting on Saturday, because that’s a surprise, he says any help is greatly appreciated to help him through school.
“Blessing me with this is just even more motivation to just keep going, you know, even more fuel to the fire to just focus on my academics,” McElveen said.
Those awards will be given out on Saturday at Tastee D’s in New Castle County. The event is free, and will be held from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. La’Reka Marshall, the founder of Project Soulful, says there will also be free lunch given out at the event.
