Police: West OC bank robbed, investigation underway

WEST OCEAN CITY, Md. – Police say an investigation is underway after a Worcester County bank was reportedly robbed Tuesday morning.

Deputies responded to the Taylor Bank located at 9923 Golf Course Road at around 9:45 am. for a report of a bank robbery in-progress. Surrounding agencies also responded to assist, and investigators with the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation were contacted to assume the investigation.

It was then learned that a suspect wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and mask entered the front entrance of the bank at approximately 9:41 a.m. and approached a teller in the lobby, handing over a note demanding money. The suspect reportedly left the bank with an unknown amount of money.

We’re told the suspect was last seen on foot heading west from Taylor Bank. The suspect reportedly appears to have brown hair and was last seen wearing a long-sleeve black shirt with white writing on the left sleeve, black sweat style pants, and black tennis shoes with white soles. Police say they have knowledge that the suspect changed clothes immediately following the incident.
