UPDATE: Police on scene in Milford, asking public to avoid area

5:15 p.m. update: We’re told police activity was cleared around 4 p.m., and roads were reopened.

Before that, people from the Southeast 2nd Street area were evacuated and told they could go to the Carlisle Fire Company if they needed a place to stay until the matter was resolved.

There has been speculation that a person was barricaded inside a home but police have not shared details.


MILFORD, Del. – The Milford Police Department announced on Friday afternoon that there is police activity in the area of Southeast 2nd Street from South Walnut Street to Marshall Street.

Officials are not releasing specific details about the situation but they made the announcement around 12:30 PM. Law enforcement is asking the public to avoid the area as well as side streets near those locations.
