Perdue receives Maryland citation for 100th anniversary

SALISBURY, Md. – Monday morning, Governor Larry Hogan paid a visit to Perdue Farms to celebrate their 100th anniversary.

The governor presented a citation to the company recognizing this historic achievement. More than 100 Perdue employees participated in the celebration by forming the number 100 outside on the field. Jim Perdue tells 47 ABC, he’s especially proud of the way they have all worked together to navigate challenges during the pandemic.

“There’s not that many companies in America that are 100 years old and I think keeping it in the family is some thing that I think only ten percent of companies make it to the third generation so to still be a viable business I think it just talks to the values that started this business,” says Jim Perdue.

The Perdue Foundation also celebrated their 100th Anniversary this year by donating $1 million to rural food banks.
