Ocean City incumbent mayor running unopposed, council seats up for election in November

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Incumbent Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan is running unopposed in this year’s election but he says he’s still campaigning as if there were other candidates on the ballot.

Meehan says he doesn’t take this position for granted and says if he’s reelected he will focus on public safety. Meehan also says his number one priority is going to be helping the resort town’s economy and small businesses recover from the pandemic and figure out how to prepare for the next summer season.

“As we navigate through the rest of the year and into 2021, we’re going to have to plan how we’re going to approach the season in 2021, how we’re going to advertise, what we’re going to be able to do, how we’re going to keep people safe and how we’re going to move forward,” says Ocean City Mayor Rick Meehan.

Four council seats are up for election on November 3rd including the seats of current Council Members Dennis Dare, Tony DeLuca, John Gehrig and Mary Knight.

The names that will appear on the November ballot for Ocean City council seats are: Peter S. Buas, Tony DeLuca, Nicholas Anastasios Eastman, John Gehrig, Jr., Daniel Hagan and Frank Knight.
