Millsboro police to kick off Whiskers for Wishes campaign

MILLSBORO, Del. – The Millsboro Police Department is gearing up for their annual Whiskers For Wishes Campaign and they’re asking the community for help.
Starting November 1, Millsboro police officers will be allowed to grow their beards to help bring attention to their campaign and according to the police department, growing a beard isn’t typically something officers will do.
Money will be collected and will go towards buying Christmas gifts for families in need. However, according to Millsboro Police Chief Brian Calloway, people can now donate money by contacting the police department.
The Millsboro Police Department says they hope to support more than seven families.
“It shows our police department doing more than just law enforcement, that we’re a part of our community that we work with every day,” said Calloway.
The police department says they wouldn’t be able to pull this off without the Grace United Methodist Church in Seaford.
