House of Representatives Dist. 36 candidates share their platforms ahead of November election
MILFORD, Del. – In Delaware, Republican incumbent Bryan Shupe and Democrat Greg Fuller are vying for the District 36 seat in the House of Representatives, which covers parts of Sussex County like Milford.
Shupe who currently holds the seat is pledging to rebuild aging infrastructure and create new partnerships between communities and businesses much like when the Bayhealth Sussex County Campus was created.
“The City of Milford the public sector got in the conference room with the nonprofit sector the private sector with Bayhealth and we created the plan of how to reimagine health care in Sussex County,” said Shupe.
Shupe the former mayor of Milford and owner of Fur-Baby Boutique & Doggie Daycare says he’s also pushing harder to protect people from losing their homes because of bad building practices.
“We have seen with the increase of development a lot of the individuals who have been displaced by building practices that have left them in homes that are not what I’d call sustainable for their families,” said Shupe.
He says right now Delawareans of all backgrounds are tackling issues together and that he wants to continue to be a part of that. Meanwhile, Greg Fuller, a veteran and board member of the organization Home of the Brave says he’s looking to address issues like affordable housing and veterans’ rights.
“Those are things that definitely I’ll be looking at is other places Brownstone, places that have been shut down that we could possibly turn into shelters or facilities for our homeless veterans,” said Fuller.
He says he’s also looking to get more resources that will help at-risk children succeed as well as ways to improve health care in Delaware.
“The legislator is going to have to do some things creatively to make the place more palatable for doctors to want to come here and stay here and live here and provide adequate medical care for our seniors,” said Fuller.
Republican incumbent Bryan Shupe says he’s also looking at repairing the transportation system in District 36. Meanwhile, Democrat Greg Fuller says he wants others to know he’s a man of integrity and that he wants to make a difference.
