Greensboro Elementary School to close for two weeks after staff members test positive for COVID-19
GREENSBORO, Md. – Caroline County Public School officials announced on Sunday that Greensboro Elementary School will be closed to students and most staff for the next two weeks.
This comes after a total of eight staff members recently tested positive for COVID-19. We’re told that late last week, two staff members tested positive for the virus, with six additional staff members testing positive over the weekend.
In an email sent to parents on Sunday, Principal Dawn Swann wrote, ” “I certainly understand the level of anxiety that receiving this message is going to cause for all of you, and I truly wish I didn’t have to send it. However, the safety and health of our students and staff is our highest priority, and we will continue to do everything we can to ensure the safest environment possible.”
We’re told students will continue instruction through distance learning from today, October 19th, through Friday, October 30th.
Internet hotspots have been provided to students who do not have connectivity at home. If the device does not enable a connection, the student will be provided a paper packet of materials by the school.
