First Annual Semper Fi Bike Ride Event to support injured service members

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The town of Ocean City and different organizations held their first-ever Semper Fi Bike Ride event on the Boardwalk today and it was all for a good cause.

Event organizers say they raised over $12,000. The money will benefit the organization Semper Fi and America’s Fund, which provides resources and support for critically ill service members and their families.

The event was held by the RGF Environmental Group, First State Marines, and the town of Ocean City.

According to event organizers, more than 150 people participated. There were also games and prizes for the best-decorated bike.

“It was a great time for all to be down here and have a good time riding the boardwalk, enjoying the comradery of the town and the people that came out to ride,” said Event Production & Marketing Director for the Semper Fi Bike Ride, Brad Hoffman.

Organizers tell 47ABC they’re looking to grow the fundraiser next year by making it a weekend-long event.
