Deadline to request absentee ballots in Va. is Friday

RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia residents who wish to vote absentee in this year’s election but have not already requested a ballot still have a little bit of time to do so.

Voters have until 5 p.m. Friday to request an absentee ballot. Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Election Day, November 3rd, and received by the local voter registration office by noon on November 6th. Voters can also drop off their ballots at their general registrar’s office or polling place up until 7 p.m. on November 3rd.

In addition to regularly scheduled hours, local voter registration offices will be open for the next two Saturdays, October 24th and 31st, for early in-person voting. The final day for early in-person voting is October 31st.
