Coronavirus cases across the shore: October 30, 2020

DELMARVA – Here is the latest on COVID-19 across the Eastern Shore.

Maryland added more than 900 new cases for the second day in a row, bringing the statewide total to 144,314. The state’s positivity rate also rose slightly over the last 24 hours, from 3.52% to 3.71%. Wicomico County added 20 new cases and has a positivity rate of 4.25%, while Worcester County added just two new cases and has a positivity rate of 3.49%.

In Delaware, nearly 200 cases were added overnight, bringing the state’s total number of confirmed cases to 24,751. The statewide positivity rate dropped overnight, from 10.1% to 8.7%. Locally, Sussex County added 68 new cases, bringing their total to 8,036, with a positivity rate jumping to 13.5%.

The state of Virginia added 1,456 new cases overnight, bringing their total to 166,551. Accomack County added five new cases and now sits at 1,219.
