Coronavirus cases across the shore: October 29, 2020

DELMARVA – Here is a look at COVID-19 cases across the Eastern Shore.

Maryland added nearly 1,000 new cases overnight, bringing the total to 143,387 confirmed cases. The statewide positivity rate currently sits at 3.52%, which is up just slightly from the previous day’s 3.36%. Locally, Wicomico County sits at 2,519 total confirmed cases, with a positivity rate of 3.8%, with roughly no change from the previous day. Worcester County added eight new cases and sits at a total of 1,220, with a positivity rate of 3.58%.

In Delaware, 161 new cases were added in the last 24 hours, bringing the statewide total to 24,553. The statewide positivity rate jumped overnight, from 7.2% yesterday to 9.9% today. Sussex County added 43 new cases and currently has a total of 7,968 cases with a positivity rate of 13.2%, up 3% from yesterday.

The state of Virginia added nearly 1,500 new cases overnight, bringing their total to 165,384 confirmed cases. Accomack added no new cases and remains at 1,214.
