Coronavirus cases across the shore: October 21, 2020


DELMARVA – Below is an update on COVID-19 cases across the Eastern Shore.

Maryland added nearly 500 new cases overnight, bringing the statewide total to 137,236 confirmed cases. The state’s positivity rate remains just over 3%, with today’s rate sitting at 3.11%. Locally, Wicomico County has a total of 2,385 confirmed cases, with a positivity rate of 5.17%, a jump from the previous day’s positivity rate of 4.7%. Worcester County has a total of 1,181 confirmed cases and a positivity rate of 3.62%, down from 3.65%.

In Delaware, 117 new cases were added over the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 23,325. The positivity rate in the first state sits at 6.6%, up just slightly from 5.7%. Locally, Sussex County added 34 new cases, with a total of 7,593 confirmed cases in the county, and a positivity rate of 8.6%, which is down 1% from the previous day.

The state of Virginia is up to 157,998 total confirmed cases. Accomack County currently sits at 1,202 total cases.
