Caroline Co. man arrested on child pornography charges

DENTON, Md. – Maryland State Police investigators say a Caroline County man has been arrested on child pornography charges.

We’re told 47-year-old Daniel Provencal of Denton was arrested on Thursday on 11 counts of distribution of child pornography, 11 counts of possession with intent to distribute child pornography, and 18 counts of possession of child pornography.

The investigation began after police received a tip that Provencal had distributed and was in possession of child pornography through various social media outlets. A search warrant was obtained for Provencal’s residence and was executed on Thursday, leading to his arrest.

He is currently being held without bond at the Caroline County Detention Center.
