19-year-old facing felony drugs and weapon charges in Selbyville; allegedly stole money from someone he was living with

SELBYVILLE, Del.-  A 19-year-old is facing felony drugs and weapon charges in Delaware after an incident Saturday morning.

Police said they responded to a home on Beachview Ct. in reference to a theft and possession of an illegal firearm.

Officers said 19-year-old- Darren Leager allegedly stole money from a 73 year-old victim’s wallet that he is living with.

We’re told the victim confronted Leager about the missing money, but he stopped after he saw a 12 gauge shotgun next to his bed.

Police said the victim took the illegal gun, and hid it until Troopers came.

We’re told police ultimately found Leager in his bedroom and took him into custody.

They said they also found a portion of the suspected stolen money and approximately .455 grams of heroin.

Leager is now facing charges that include possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of destructive weapon, possession of a controlled substance, and theft.

Leager was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court #3 and released on $10,100 unsecured bond.
