Young Heroes Car Parade to raise childhood cancer awareness

SUSSEX COUNTY, Del. – In Sussex County, residents are getting ready for a car parade and fundraising event this Saturday that will help raise awareness about children’s cancer.
Laralyn Willey from Seaford is leading the effort.
Her 15-year-old son Cole who studies at Seaford High School is battling leukemia. Both Cole and Katelyn Milligan another teenager in the area who’s battling cancer will serve as the event ambassadors.
Laralyn says the parade called Young Heroes Car Parade will begin at the Seaford Village Shopping Center and finish at the Laurel American Legion Post 19 where people will have a chance to donate money for research and patient programs at Nemours.
“The parade and the event will help us try to educate others so that everyone has a clear understanding of what it is like for our children who are diagnosed,” said Laralyn.
The parade lineup will start at 10:30 AM. Organizers say attendees will need to follow CDC safety guidelines.
