Wicomico County receives CARES Act funding for new learning center
SALISBURY, Md. – On Wednesday, Acting Wicomico County Executive John Psota announced that the county has received $49,617 in federal coronavirus relief funds through the CARES ACT to support the development of the Kids Klub Learning Center, a new child care program for Wicomico County residents.
We’re told the funding was secured in coordination with the Wicomico County Health Department.
The Kids Klub Learning Center will provide services for families who cannot send their children to school due to closures forced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants will follow their personal virtual curriculums and complete their individual assignments under the supervision of certified staff. Children will also have time to play games and make crafts.
In addition to supporting the development of this learning center, these funds will allow the county to offer enrollment at a reduced rate $128 per week per child. The age range will also be expanded to grades 2 through 5.
The Kids Klub Learning Center is slated to open Monday, October 5th, at the Wicomico Civic Center. Hours of operation will be 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Registration is open now, and those interested in registering can click here to do so.
