Weather Tidbits: Superior Mirage

This Weather Tidbits checks out the other type of mirage, the superior mirage. A superior mirages is when an object appears higher than it actually is and commonly occurs over cold areas. This happens when the air near the surface is colder and denser than the air above it. The Fata Morgana is a special superior mirage, which transforms a horizon of verticals walls and spires and has a legendary tale to it as well.
