Weather Tidbits: Earth’s Four Spheres

This Weather Tidbits dives into the four spheres that make up the earth. The 4 spheres are the lithosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere. The lithosphere is the rigid outer layer of the earth which includes the crust and upper mantle. The hydrosphere is the water portion of our planet, which also contains the Earth’s ice or cyrosphere. The atmosphere is the gasesous portion of the earth, that involves weather. The biosphere is where life exists, but needs the interactions of the 3 physical spheres to maintain life on the planet.
