We Walk With Harriet seeks donations to help build Camp Harriet
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – In Cambridge, an organization called We Walk With Harriet is working to open a retreat program for kids and adults, but they need your help.
The founder Linda Harris recently embarked on a more than one-hundred-mile journey to hike the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway. Now she wants to open up something called Camp Harriet to promote the history and legacy of the abolitionist.
To help raise money for construction, she’s asking the community to donate through her GoFuneMe page called We Walk With Harriet.
She’s hoping to raise $10,000 dollars.
“The benefits of walking as you tie it with the word freedom it’s just amazing, so I want to continue that because this walk has been amazing for me on so many fronts and I want to share that and we seem to have a following, and I want to keep the energy going,” said Harris.
For more information on how you can donate for the construction of Camp Harriet, you’re encouraged to contact Linda Harris at justplainjazzy@gmail.com.
