Three wanted for assault in Dover
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are looking for three suspects wanted in connection to an assault that happened Tuesday night.
We’re told just after 11 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Collins Drive after receiving multiple 911 calls for a disorderly crowd. On arrival, it was learned that there had been a party at a residence, during which a group of subjects tried to fight another party-goer. This person reportedly contacted a female family member to pick her up from the party, but when the family member arrived, the group surrounded the vehicle, refusing to let the vehicle leave.
A subject then allegedly threw a brick through the rear window of the vehicle. The family member then got out of the vehicle and was physically assaulted by three suspects. She sustained injuries to her face and head, and was also sprayed with pepper spray.
Despite being unable to see, the victim got back into her vehicle and fled the area out of fear for her and her passenger’s safety. As she fled in her vehicle, one of the suspects was hit and became stuck underneath the vehicle, causing her to be dragged for nearly 1000 feet. The victim then got out of the vehicle and ran to a friend’s house in the area and called 911.
The suspect who was hit was conscious and alert on police arrival and is currently hospitalized in stable condition. The suspect reportedly refused to speak with police about the incident when contacted at the hospital.
At this time, the driver/assault victim is not being charged.
