Smyrna Police investigate a shots fired incident that happened Saturday night leaving two injured

SMYRNA, Del.- Smyrna Police said they are investigating a shooting that happened Saturday night leaving two people injured.

Police said around 10:30 p.m. police responded to the 100 block of Lincoln St. for a report of shots fired.

We are told when they arrived a 50-year-old woman had suffered a gunshot wound to her lower body.

Police said she was conscious and alert, and she was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Officers said during their investigation they learned of a second victim, in his 20’s, who was also suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body.

We are told the male ran to the area of KFC on N Dupont Hwy. after also being shot in the 100 block of Lincoln St.

Police said he was transported to the hospital for treatment and is in stable condition.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, there are no further details to report at this time.
