Shepherd’s Office offering new annual Fall event for community, will be held October 30

GEORGETOWN, Del.- With what Halloween may look like for trick or treaters up in the air, The Shepherd’s Office in Georgetown announced they will be hosting their first annual ” Christ, Community, And Candy in our trunks” event October 30th.

This new event is being held to bring the community together, as we are all trying to get back to a sense of normalcy during the pandemic.

We are told that they hope people can come to the event with their trunks filled with candy to do a trunk or treat event.

As well as with provisional items that the homeless community may need.

The director of the Shepherd’s Office said he hopes this event can bring some positivity to people during an uncertain time.

“COVID-19 is just a very challenging time for a lot of time, and I think people are feeling a lot of loneliness and isolation, and people that are normally feeling this time a year they are hurting right now and we just wanna be a positive light,” Jim Martin, director of the Shepherd’s Office, said.

The director said the event will happen from 2 to 6.

There will be a bible study and free dinner.

The organization is looking for people to donate a few dollars or items so that they can make this event possible.
