Senate candidate responds to criticism from controversial meme

DELAWARE – Delaware’s U.S. Republican Senate candidate Lauren Witzke is speaking out after a controversial meme shared on her Facebook page about Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg drew criticism over the weekend.
On Friday just hours after Ginsburg’s death Witzke says her team shared a meme on her Facebook page with a post saying, “Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s obsession with abortion overtly singled out blacks and minorities for extermination.”
She says immediately after people threatened to kill her and her family, which is why the post was later deleted. Some people responded saying that the meme was disrespectful, but Witzke says she will not apologize and that she’ll continue to defend pro-life.
“I will always stand for life,” said Witzke.
“I will not apologize for standing up for life,” said Witzke, “I will not apologize for the fact that because Ruth Bader Ginsburg is dead millions of babies may have a chance to live.”
Witzke tells 47ABC she’s pushing for President Donald Trump to fill Ginsburg’s Supreme Court Seat with a pro-life Supreme Court justice.
