Rehoboth Beach swears in Mayor and Commissioners Friday to serve on City Council

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- Friday during the Rehoboth Beach Commissioners virtual meeting, three incumbents were sworn in to serve on City Council.

We are told Rehoboth Beach Alderman Judge Renee Bennett administered the Oath of Office to newly elected Mayor Stan Mills and Commissioners Patrick Gossett and Jay Lagree.

We are told Mills, Gossett, and Lagree are each serving three-year terms.

Also, the city told us Mills said he is hopeful about the future despite the hard times currently, and his immediate priority as Mayor is helping the community get through the pandemic crisis and keeping the community healthy.

Mills said he wants to improve transparency and find more ways to communicate with the community.

“I believe our City of Rehoboth Beach government has the most robust communications program of all 57 municipalities in Delaware. This is all being done to promote having an informed constituency and solicit your input,” Mills said. “For us to serve you well, I believe we need to solicit and receive your input on the topics we are discussing. And we need to ensure that you get accurate information as well.”
