Pieces of Our Past new virtual event, hoping to raise money for annual scholarship fund

OCEAN CITY, Md.- The Ocean City Life Saving Station Museum is hosting a new virtual event that will raise money for an annual scholarship fund.

The event is called Pieces of Our Past and the museum is holding it as part of their history week, which takes place from October 10th to the 16th.
The Pieces of Our Past event will take place specifically on Sunday October 11, in place of their annual historic house tour where they would go to different houses and buildings to talk about history.
During the event, they will show off unique artifacts to the public.

Pieces of Our Past is also a fundraiser that will help strengthen and grow a scholarship fund for Stephen Decatur High School graduates who plan on furthering their education at Salisbury University, Wor-Wic Community College, or the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

“We plan to give this scholarship out for many years to come, so whether it be a house tour or Pieces of Our Past it’s really important to offer a history event and in turn raise money for this scholarship,” Christine Okerblom, assistant curator for the museum said.

Pieces of Our Past will begin at 1 p.m.

You can join the live stream and donate on their website at ocmuseum.org.
