One dead, another injured in Sunday night shooting in Dover
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police say they are investigating a shooting that killed one and injured another Sunday night.
We’re told officers responded to Schutte Park at around 9:40 p.m. for a report of shots fired. On arrival, officers found 20-year-old Devin Wright suffering from a gunshot wound to his head, as well as a 22-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to his shoulder and hand. Further investigation revealed that the victims were attending a party with mostly students from Delaware State University (DSU) at the park. Police say there were approximately 300 to 500 people present when a shootout occurred between multiple suspects.
We’re told Wright, who was a student at DSU, was taken to a local hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries. The second victim was also treated for his injuries at a local hospital.
