OCPD announce Special Event Zone starting Oct. 6th

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Ocean City officials announced on Wednesday that the town will be designated a Special Event Zone from Tuesday, October 6th through Sunday, October 11th, for the Endless Summer Cruisin’ event.

The Special Event Zone reduces established speed limits in the zone and increases fines for violations. In addition, penalties have been increased for specific motor vehicle violations. Similar to a construction zone, violators will face increased fines, or in some cases, arrest.

Citizens should expect to see a large police presence from multiple local agencies. Significant traffic congestion and alternate traffic patterns is expected throughout the weekend.
