OC Life Saving Station Museum to celebrate History Week

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Ocean City Life Saving Station Museum will soon celebrate history week and they want you to get involved!

The week will be celebrated from October 10th until the 16th, and the museum will host several events both virtually and in person.

Events include free admissions for locals, history lessons of equipment, and even book signings.

Nancy Howard, the President of the Ocean City Museum Society, says despite the pandemic shutting down a lot of events, the museum still thought it was important to host these events to celebrate the history that made Ocean City what it is today.

“History never stops, and that’s what our job is, our job is to gather the history so that generations from now people will know what happened in Ocean City, and so we want to continue that,” she said.

During history week, the museum will also present the annual spirit award to somebody who has done work to preserve history. If you know someone you would like to nominate for that award, the deadline is Wednesday evening. You can do so by visiting the museum’s website.
