Milford opens select schools to help increase internet access
MILFORD, Del. – The Milford School District started phasing in hybrid learning by bringing students back on site on Monday and along with that they say they’re offering some extra help in the evening hours.
The District now has three schools open for a few hours in the evening, Monday through Thursday, for students of all ages. Officials say one of the main priorities is helping students connect to the internet especially if they’ve had trouble with direct internet access at home or hotspots. They will also have teachers on hand to help students who may need some in person guidance.
“Providing a dedicated location as well as a dedicated time is also very helpful for families who have students who really need the structure and routine to be established,” says Bridget Armory
Mispillion Elementary, Milford Central Academy and Morris Early Childhood Center will be open to all students Monday through Thursday from 4 PM to 7 PM. Students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade must be accompanied by an adult. COVID-19 precautions including screening and cleaning will be taken at the sites.
