Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle rescued at Cape Henlopen
LEWES, Del. – A sea turtle was rescued on Wednesday after being stranded from the tropical storm that passed through.
The MERR Institute says the Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle was rescued after a surfer helped guide it to shore near the navy jetty in Cape Henlopen State Park. There, workers with the MERR Institute examined it and noticed she was somewhat active, but her body movement was weak and indicated an underlying condition. They named her Silver and say she is getting better now at the Marine Animal Rescue Program at the National Aquarium in Baltimore.
