DSP arrest Seaford man Saturday night for driving with a fake tags and possession of drug paraphernalia

SEAFORD, Del.- Saturday night in Seaford Delaware State Police arrested a man for criminal and traffic charges.

Police said a trooper patrolling the area of Old Furnace Rd. and Middleford Rd. saw 32-year-old, Garland G. Church, of Seaford, driving a dark-colored Honda with a fake registration plate.

Police said they stopped the car and they found that Church had a folding knife concealed on his waistband with a blade longer than three inches.

They also said they found drug paraphernalia and a large knife in the car.

Police said that Church is prohibited from carrying a deadly weapon.

Police said two other people were in the car, the front-seat passenger was a 38-year-old female of Seaford, and the back seat passenger was a male.

Officers said they found additional drug paraphernalia in the front-seat passenger’s purse.

We are told the car was towed because it was unregistered and had fake tags.

Church is now facing charges that include carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to have insurance in possession, operation of a unregistered car, and fake tags.

Church was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #3 and released on his own recognizance.

Police said the front seat passenger was charged with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #3 and released on her own recognizance. 

The back seat passenger was not charged.
