Delmar man arrested on attempted murder charges in connection to 2019 shooting incident
DELMAR, Md. – Police say a man was arrested earlier this month in connection to a 2019 shooting.
During the early evening hours of September 4th, deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to 33661 E. Line Road in Delmar for a report of threats. On arrival, deputies learned that in July of 2019, the victim in this incident had suffered a gunshot wound to her hand after her husband, Marion Marvin Gladden Jr., shot her.
It was also learned that the victim’s grandson was present at the time of the incident. Further investigation revealed that Gladden pointed the firearm at the grandson and forced him into a pickup truck.
Investigators were able to locate the firearm allegedly used in this incident. It was also learned that Gladden is prohibited from possessing any firearms or ammunition due to previous convictions.
Gladden was located and arrested. He was charged with attempted first and second degree murder, first and second degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use in the commission of a crime of violence, kidnapping, possession of a regulated firearm with a felony conviction, illegal possession of ammunition, handgun in vehicle, loaded handgun in vehicle, and handgun on person.
