Coronavirus cases across the shore: September 24, 2020

DELMARVA – Below is an update on COVID-19 cases across the shore.

Maryland added 503 new cases over the last 24 hours, bringing the statewide total to 121,800 cases. The state’s positivity rate dropped to 2.57 percent, down 0.03 percent from the previous day. Locally, Wicomico County added 17 new cases, bringing their total to 1,936, with a positivity rate of 3.78 percent, up from 3.28 percent the previous day. Worcester County added eight new cases, bringing their total to 1,028, with a positivity rate of 6.61 percent, up from 6.02 percent the previous day.

Delaware added 117 new cases overnight, bringing their statewide total to 19,947, with a positivity rate of 6 percent, down from 6.4 percent the previous day. Locally, Sussex County added 18 new cases, bringing their total to 6,691. Their positivity rate also jumped to 8.1 percent, up from 5.4 percent the previous day.

Virginia is reporting a total of 136,448 cases, up more than 800 from the previous day, with a statewide positivity rate of 5.3 percent. Accomack is reporting no new cases over the last 24 hours, sitting at a total of 1,169 cases.
