Chamber of Commerce, Lower Shore Job Center hosting job fair

SALISBURY, Md. – In Wicomico County, two organizations are teaming up to host their annual job fair in an effort to help employers and employees meet.

The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce and the Lower Shore American Job Center host the fair every single fall and this one will be no different. This year’s event will be on October eighth at the Centre at Salisbury from three p.m. until six p.m.

There will be over 65 employers looking to hire and we’re told each year thousands of job seekers come out to the mall to meet their future employer.

Bill Chambers, the CEO of the Salisbury area of Chamber of Commerce, says there are a few ways job seekers can make the most of the experience.

“If you’re a job seeker, dress for success, number one. First impressions mean everything. Number two, bring paper and pen. Bring business cards if you have them,” he said.

Chambers also says if you have a laptop or an iPad, to bring that as well to make the process a bit quicker. We’re told there will also be safety measurements in place because of the pandemic and people are required to wear masks.
