Bicyclist hit and killed, Salisbury man arrested
SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury Police have arrested a man after he reportedly hit and killed a bicyclist Monday night.
We’re told the incident happened at around 9:30 p.m., in the 1100 block of West Road. When officers arrived, they saw EMS rendering treatment to a bicyclist, identified as 64-year-old Kenneth Walker, for significant injuries after he was hit by a vehicle. Walker was taken to PRMC where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Further investigation revealed that 35-year-old Durell Robins was driving northbound on West Road when he allegedly hit Walker in the 1100 block of West Road. Robins reportedly failed to stop and help Walker and left the scene of the accident.
Police say Robins later turned himself in to the Salisbury Police Department where he was charged with negligent manslaughter by vehicle.
