Absolutely Flawless Women Resource Center partnering with ACME to fight childhood hunger through campaign
DELAWARE- A Delaware Resource Center is partnering with ACME for their Nourishing Neighbors campaign. The overall goal is to fight childhood hunger.
Here’s how the campaign works, when someone shops at the Rehoboth Beach ACME they will have the option at checkout to make a donation to the Nourishing Neighbors Campaign.
Those funds will then go to the Absolutely Flawless Women Resource Center.
The center will then use those funds to buy non-perishables for kids taking part in the Delaware Breakfast program. That program serves children who are at home weekly doing virtual learning.
The CEO of the Resource Center hopes that these efforts will give families one less thing to worry about during the pandemic.
“The goal is to make sure that no child is left with hunger issues and we want to help the parents that are working, some parents like I said have to go to work, leaving their child there 5:13 and they may need help with food,” Dr. Leshell Dennis, CEO of Absolutely Flawless Women Resource Center.
The CEO said they applied to be partners with ACME for this campaign through a grant.
The campaign started yesterday and will last until September 30th.
The CEO also added that next Thursday they are partnering with the Delaware Food Bank, where they will distribute food to people in their cars.
