Worcester County officials launch branding campaign, hope to attract tourists

WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. –  In Worcester County, officials are launching a branding campaign in hopes of attracting more tourists and businesses to the area. The new slogan officials want people to identify the county by? “Maryland’s Coast.” Tourism officials tell 47 ABC for the past couple of months, they’ve been talking with long time residents, county employees, and others to identify the things that make Worcester County so unique. They say they’ve been trying to find ways to promote Worcester County and highlight all that the area has to offer.

“Maryland’s Coast just kind of came to the surface and we all just felt like that resonated with the community. The coast isn’t just the coast where the ocean is, it’s the back bays, it’s the rivers and all of the coastlines throughout the county,” said the Director of Tourism, Melanie Pursel.

County officials tell 47 ABC they hope to have the “Maryland’s Coast” slogan and brand rolled out by the start of the new year.
