The meteor shower originates towards the northeast at the Perseus constellation and comes from its parent which is the Swift-Tuttle comet, that orbits the sun every 133 years. The Perseids is considered the best meteor shower of the year, due to its brightness, its numerous meteors, and the summer warmth.
