PARSONSBURG, Md. – An investigation into the possession of illegal firearms led to two arrests late last week.

We’re told the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office had received several nuisance complaints about 30-year-old Edward Romero and 21-year-old Trent Pauley possessing firearms, shooting them in unsafe directions, and having a lot of vehicle traffic at the residence. Detectives learned that both Romero and Pauley are prohibited from possessing firearms based on previous criminal convictions.

A search and seizure warrant was obtained for their residence in the 7300 block of Walston Switch Road in Parsonsburg, which was executed on July 31st. During the search, detectives located the following:

  • .380 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun with a partially obliterated serial number
  • Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun
  • Remington .22 caliber rifle

Detectives also found an amount of heroin indicative of distribution, as well as an abundance of paraphernalia consistent with packaging heroin. Both men were taken into custody at the residence without incident.

Romero was charged with possession with the intent to distribute heroin, possession of a firearm in a drug trafficking crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of heroin. Pauley was charged with possession with the intent to distribute heroin, possession of a firearm in a drug trafficking crime, possession of a firearm after a conviction of a disqualifying crime as a juvenile, and possession of heroin.

Both were originally held without bond, but were later released on a $50,000 unsecured bond.
