Sussex Montessori School opening doors for the first time, coronavirus adding changes

SEAFORD, Del.- Sussex Montessori School will be opening their doors for the first time ever September 14th.

Head of School for Sussex Montessori School, Lisa Coldiron, said they were excited to open with a class full of students, but that vision changed due to the pandemic.

Right now, they plan on offering both online and hybrid learning.

They are even planning on doing some outdoor classes.

Coldiron said even though they will be opening in a non-traditional way they are going to remain optimistic.

“So it is very different, but what we are trying to do is really focus on the positive, seeing the class half full, this is where we are we are going to welcome those children whoever those parents decide to send them back,” Coldiron said.

We are told for hybrid learning, students will be on campus for 2 days, and as of right now they are only allowed to have 13 students per classroom.
