State of emergency issued for state of Delaware

DELAWARE — Governor John Carney has issued a State of Emergency for the state as a result of Tropical Storm Isaias.

The State of Emergency will coordinate response and recovery efforts following damage from the storm.

We’re told it will allow the Delaware Emergency Management Agency to direct and coordinate the resources to assist the areas affected by the storm. It will also direct DelDOT  and the Delaware State Police to close bridges and roads if they need to, to keep residents and travelers in the state safe.
