Shepherd’s Office giving out supplies to students August 27, more donations needed

GEORGETOWN, Del.- The Shepherd’s Office in Georgetown is looking to help families who have kids getting ready to go back to school.

The organization will be hosting an event on August 27th where they will hand out school supplies to kids in need.

We’re told the Shepherd’s Office held this same event last year, but this year is different because the need is greater because of the pandemic.

The founder of the Shepherd’s Office Jim Martin said he hopes that by providing these supplies it will give families one less thing to stress about during these uncertain times.

“We’re helping with food, people that are hungry and homeless, but we also want to help some of the kids that might need a few supplies to help their parents out, so they don’t have to go out and buy supplies, they can have them on hand here next Thursday,” Martin said.

Martin said the event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

They are still in need of school supplies like notebooks and pencils.

So, anyone who wants to donate to the cause can reach out to Jim Martin on his Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/helpinghomeless.
