Police chase leads to numerous charges for Millsboro man
LEWES, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a Millsboro person for drug and other related charges following a pursuit Thursday evening.
At around 5 p.m., troopers tried to stop a vehicle for following another vehicle too closely on Camp Arrowhead Road in Lewes. The driver failed to stop for the fully marked patrol vehicle and continued traveling on Camp Arrowhead Road before eventually coming to a stop on the shoulder. The driver, 27-year-old Miles Sherman, and a 33-year-old male passenger were detained without incident.
A search of Sherman’s vehicle resulted in the discovery of approximately .819 grams of heroin, drug paraphernalia, approximately 23 amphetamine and dextroamphetamine prescription pills, and approximately 3.92 grams of marijuana. He was also found to be in possession of roughly $1,130 in suspected drug proceeds.
He was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, disregarding a police officer signal, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, unsafe passing on left, and following a motor vehicle too closely. He was later released on a $7,700 unsecured bond.
The passenger was not charged.
