Parsonsburg woman arrested on child neglect, drug charges
SALISBURY, Md. – Police say a Parsonsburg woman was arrested Monday night on multiple charges following a traffic stop.
Just before 10 p.m., a deputy patrolling the Route 13 Bypass near Hobbs Road stopped a vehicle being driven by 40-year-old Michelle Moore. While interacting with Moore, the deputy began to believe that Moore was under the influence of controlled dangerous substances. The deputy then administered a series of standardized field sobriety tests, subsequently arresting Moore for driving under the influence.
The deputy also found that Moore was in possession of a smoking device containing suspected crack cocaine. At the time of the traffic stop, Moore was transporting two children in the car, one of which was a 1-year-old.
Moore was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment, two counts of child neglect, possession of crack cocaine, possession of paraphernalia, driving while impaired, driving while impaired while transporting minors, and additional traffic violations. She was initially held without bond.
