Military recruiting on the shore changes amidst pandemic

MARYLAND – As most things have adjusted during the pandemic, military recruiting has had to change as well.

Local Army Recruiter Basilio Deleon says they’re making sure any recruits or future applicants are kept safe and maintaining all the proper guidelines.

We’re also told anyone that wants to enlist has to have a mask and do an Covid-19 health screening before entering the building.

Deleon says one thing that’s been a huge help, is being able to do things virtually that way they can keep pushing forward as they seek out future applicants.

“We are able to do everything virtually so over the phone and we can send them all the documentation that they need and they can send that back to us,” said Deleon.

Captain Deleon also tell us that 50 percent of their staff is at the office while the other is working from home so they can minimize contact and keep everyone spread out.
