Milford community helps raise money for foundation
MILFORD, Del. – This weekend, the Milford community helped raise money for a nonprofit that supports people with disabilities.
The business North Pole Creamery gave part of their sales from over the weekend to the nonprofit Surfgimp Foundation.
The nonprofit raises money to help those with disabilities get things like adaptive equipment that they need to achieve their goals.
According to the president of the foundation, Melanie Liesener, there have been fewer fundraising opportunities this year because of the pandemic.
“Our goal has always been to be able to enhance people’s lives and I think that’s the mission and that’s what our foundation will still be able to do regardless of our fundraising level, regardless of what is happening with the pandemic,” said Liesener.
