Maryland officials report record low COVID-19 positivity rate

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Governor Larry Hogan announced on Monday that Maryland’s statewide COVID-19 positivity rate has reached a new all-time low of 3.27%.

In addition, the daily positivity rate has fallen to a record low of 2.12% and total COVID hospitalizations have dropped 26% in the month of August. The current number of hospitalizations is 435, and the state is reporting its lowest number of new deaths since March 28th.

The positivity rate among Marylanders under 35 is down 40% since July 23rd, currently sitting at 4.05%. The positivity rate among Marylanders over 35 is 2.83%.
