Hogan: COVID-19 positivity rate reaches new all-time low, ICU levels decline
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Governor Larry Hogan announced on Monday that Maryland’s statewide COVID-19 positivity rate has fallen to another new all-time low of 3.62%.
The governor also says the positivity rate among Marylanders under 35 has dropped nearly 30% since July 23rd, to 4.78%. ICU beds have also dropped below 120 for the first time since July 14th.
The daily positivity rate is at 3.19%, and has been under 5% since June 25th. Officials say it is now 86.4% lower than its peak on April 17th.
In addition, the positivity rate for Worcester County has dropped back to 3.78%. Currently, only two jurisdictions in the state have positivity rates above 5%, Queen Anne’s County and Prince George’s County.
Nearly 1.5 million COVID-19 tests have been conducted, with 17.5% of the state’s population having been tested.
