Fire heavily damages Federalsburg commercial building
FEDERALSBURG, Md. – Maryland fire officials say a fire that heavily damaged a Caroline County commercial building has been ruled accidental.
We’re told the blaze broke out at around 11:45 p.m. Friday, in the 100 block of River Road in Federalsburg. Firefighters had the fire under control in about 36 minutes.
Further investigation revealed that the fire began in an interior shop area and was the result of an electrical/mechanical failure of the scale used to weight linens. Damage has been estimated at $250,000.
